Business Cards!

Hellllo friends,
So a few exciting things happening! I got my business cards, they look pretty sweet! I was extremely happy with how cool and professional they look on my work.

Kind of hard to see, but they are pretty great!

Next, I sold 6 wands today and I have also been comissioned to do 2 for a little girls birthday. They will ceramic and themed for 2 of the characters from Monster High. Also in new business related endevours, I am going to be doing a ladies night show at Foxys Bar and Grill Okotoks on Monday April 2nd at 7pm. They are having a bunch of different tables set up, so I will be selling wands and displaying some of my stuff for people to check out and maybe get some comissions set up. Come check us out!

Last but definatly not least, I am going to Llyods Roller Rink tonight to meet some of the girls from the Foothills Roller Derby Association. I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do and hopefully learning some new tricks and joining as fresh meat! Now, I just need to finish my helmet...I have done Stage 1, and painted a coat of white, the colors will be going on either tonight or tomorrow. I meant to do more last night but I may have gotten caught up reading The Hunger Games, started the first book last night and finished it...on to book 2 today! :)

Ciao for now!

2 Posts in One Day! Showing a Talented Crochet Artist!

Are you excited? 2 Posts in one day! Ok ok, I know I am a bit of a geek but it is rare that I get to do 1 post every few days, let alone 2 in one day and actually have stuff to blog about!
I wanted to post some pics of some beautiful crochet work that I have the pleasure of owning done by Night Gypsy! :) I can't crochet a straight line...seriously, not even to save my life, so I like to showcase her wonderful work!

Check her stuff out! Extremely talented, I keep telling her she is and she doesn't believe me!

My daughter P, sporting her new leg warmers, she loves them!

My new oh-so comfy slippers.

Me, being the spoiled daughter, lol , and the proud owner of both slouchy hat and scarf!

Seriously, love it, I really should attempt to learn to crochet. Right now Night Gypsy is also working on 2 Storm Trooper Helmets after successfully creating without pattern, a sweet Bobo Fett Helmet!
Awsomeness!
That is all for today....I think...I may be back, but for now, back to working on my Roller Derby Helmet!
Here is a little tease of a rough doodle idea I am playing with!
Rough Idea Draft... :)

Crazy Dreams

I have always had intense, vivid dreams, some that have even verged on being precognitive. As of lately they just seem to be getting more ..real? I don't even know if that the right word to use...have you ever been dreaming and then in your dream you become self aware? I have had it happen before but last night seemed different. I wont go into full details but I was dreaming that my hubby, kids and I were moving into this new place by a river. As we are bringing in boxes and checking out the place, I go out onto the porch in the back along the river. I stand there staring at the water and as I'm gazing away at the flowing river and listening to peaceful burbling water, I became self aware in my dream. I am aware that the deck looks older then the last time I saw it...in a dream I had years ago! Its like I had been there before in a dream, but the place has aged, as I have, and I am fully aware in my dream, that I am in fact dreaming and aware that I had dreamt of this place before. It is also not a real place, it is somewhere I have never seen or been. Crazy eh? Maybe it is real...in a different reality. :)

Annnnyways, that's pretty much it for today, I am actually working on painting my skating helmet today and the cookie monster pots for my daughters birthday. So I shall leave you with my current song obsession. I am completely hooked...

Tammys Baby Shower!

My darling friend of many years, Tammy, had her first baby shower today, She is due in May and they are having a little girl, her name is Alice!
For Tams baby shower, I used a large Terracotta pot to encompass all the baby goodies and painted in the colors I had been told they were using for the baby. I received many compliments on the gift. :) The shower was fun and as always, there was tasty food!

After the shower, I came home for a brief stint and then I was out the door again with my friend Steph for some dinner with some old co-workers. All in all it was a pretty good day, but I am defiantly glad it has come to an end and I can relax at home with my fabulous husband and my beautiful kids. Nothing wrong with being a home body. :)

ALSO! They other day, Peyton and I had cookies in a cup, thanks to Pinterest! They were extremely tasty and I actually plan on making them again tonight for me and the hubby!

Check it out!

Anyways, that is pretty much it for now, enjoy the pics and I shall be back soon! :)

Tasty Goodness!

Babbling Post

Hello!
Today's post is the kind where for the most part I am going to babble on about random things going on in my life! Lets see, where to start....Well, the hubby and I have been talking with Financial Advisers with Sun Life to set up the kids schools funds, life insurance etc and in the process, Janai, one of the advisers decided she liked the wands I make! She also told me about Calgary Artwalk and suggested I set up a table to sell my wands and other art work, she thinks I would do well. I think I might just take her suggestion, I plan on calling today and finding out what to do!
I have also sent an email to CRDA to see about possibly doing sponsoring for them. I seriously have a crush on the whole world of Roller Derby. Speaking of... I should really paint my helmet.. I keep meaning to start that and then my little ones decide that I am not allowed. lol.

Annnnyways, I've been slowly collecting supplies for a bunch of projects that I plan on starting here soon. I have a baby shower this weekend that I have something planned for, as well as another wand order to fill! I think its time I look into using PayPal and shipping costs so that I'm not driving all over doing deliveries and collecting money. I also plan on starting themed wand collections! :)

I think that's all of my babbling for today, so I will leave you with a pic of a couple of wands I did yesterday. Ciao!

Bunnies, Harleys and Name Changes! Oh My!

It has been a SUPER busy few days for me! My Dad and my brother in-law have their birthdays 2 days apart and I did the cakes for both and then I had a few more orders for magic wands.
I find that trying to keep schedule with writing my blog is dramatically effected by these 2 adorable little ankle biters I call my kids. Both of my kids are extra moody right now. We are still trying to get P to adjust to the new house, but she doesn't want to go to sleep in her room and she doesn't want to take a bath ( she doesn't like the new tub!)
My little T-rex is teething and he is also going through a growth spurt, yay cranky kids! lol. Luckily I have a fabulous husband who made sure I was uninterupted while doing my cakes.

Anyways, below are some pics of the cakes and then a fun pic of my little kidlets! Hope you enjoy and I hope to be back within the next few days with more finished projects AND my new business cards to show! I have decided with the increase in interest in my work, to try and actually get my business off the ground, hence the new name, Charmed By Choice!

My dads, and yes there is a story behind it being a bunny! lol.

First time using edible paper, must buy the proper tools for future use! lol

Blame Betty is FANTASTIC!

Okay! So I actually have alot to blog about but this one is going to be short with a much longer entry tomorrow evening. I really wanted to share how much I enjoyed my experience at Blame Betty today. They are this fabulous little store on 17th Ave, Downtown Calgary that sells these divine dresses, skirts, pants, shirts, accessories and other pretties! The culture and vibe there is exotic, slightly erotic (scandalous!) and just plain fun, almost like walking into another little world of wonder...just call me Alice!
They had a 40% off of everything sale today, so naturally, Joce and I went down and waited in line for an hour-ish in the chilly weather for our turn to check out the fabulous stock, the wait was well worth it.
With a staff that I would say has few rivals in excellent, superior customer service and amazing product, Blame Betty is defiantly a place to check out!
If on the odd chance anyone from there reads this, THANK YOU! :)

My superb Zombie Unicorn top, pic taken in the Blame Betty bathroom :D

I put a spell on you....

And now your mine!
Hehe I seriously love that song and it's even better when done by Bette Midler in Hocus Pocus!

Speaking of Magic and Hocus Pocus, I have been making a lot of wands it seems these days! I have been commissioned to sell a surprising amount, which makes me a happy lady!

If your interested in your own personal wand, please feel free to send me off a messege for pricing and with the details of what you would like it to look like.

I've blurred out the tags containing personal info, but these are 2 recent commissions! :)

They really look much cooler in person.
Anyways, I'm off to bed, I am one sleepy Mommy tonight, so until next time!

Also.... I think I want to find out how to make a signature for my blog...just my random before bed thought...

I won a Peeeeg! :)

The link above is a link to a world of complete and utter cuteness and talent. A friend of mine runs a home based company making crocheted cute little animals that are simply, melt your heart adorable.

Check out her site and check out the pics below of the fabulous Peeeeg (pig) that I won from her and how my sweet little P hijacked it!

Can you handle the cuteness!?

P, kissing zee peeeg. ( She adores it!)

In other news, my kids are so damn cute! This weekend we had fairly decent weather in Calgary, so my hubby and I took the kids out on Friday and today to play...well P played...T sat in his stroller and slept mostly. We went and checked out the lake that we have access to now that we are in the new place and then we went and played at the playground at the school where P will likely go to kindergarden. (shudder! she will stay my baby forever right!?)
Enjoy and I hope you all had fabulous weekends to! I am now off to fill and order for many wands! :)
Ciao!

My little diva, showing us her style!

T, beaming his heart breaker smile. :)

Roller Skating!

One of my loves is roller skating and this year I plan on training so that next year, I can try out for the Calgary Roller Derby Association!

Check em' out!

So I have been spending (most) of my Friday evenings skating at Lloyds Roller Rink with my fabulous, future Derby girl hopeful friend, Jocelyn.

An edit I did of Joce and I with our potential Derby names! (yes, I am that geeky)

Anyways....so I mostly just want to show off my fabulous skates and my love for all that is Roller Skating! :) Enjoy!

My fabulous new toe protectors!

Purple Rebel Sure Grip Skates with 2 Firefly Wheels on each skate.

My Gear! All pads, etc are in the bag. :)

My new kicks!!!! They have nothing to do with skating...they are just pretty and I love them!

Anyways, I'm off for a walk at the lake with my kids and hubby!

Ciao!

Rouladan - Divine!

Tonight, for the very first time I tried making a German dish called Rouladan. I was skeptical of how it would turn out and to be honest....kind of expecting it to fail!
Much to my very happy surprise, it turned out fantastic! I also topped this tasty dish with a personal favorite of mine, garlic mushrooms! *drool*

Anyways, without any further adew, I have some pics to post for you and a recipe! Enjoy!

GERMAN ROULADIN
1 1/2 pounds flank steak
German stone ground mustard (or I've used Dijon)
1/2 pound thick sliced bacon
2 large onions, sliced
sandwich saver dill pickles
2 tbsp butter2 1/2 cups water
1 cube beef bouillon

1. Cut the flank steak into thin fillets, about 1/4 inch thick and 3 inches wide
2. Generously spread one side of each fillet with mustard, to taste. Place bacon, onions and pickles on each fillet, and form into a roll. Use string or toothpicks to hold the rolls together.
3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt butter. Place the rolls in the butter and saute until browned.
4. Pour in 2 1/2 cups of water and add the bouillon cube, stirring to dissolve the cube. (I mix my beef cube with water before adding to meat...it's easier, plus, I use 2 cubes/packets/tsp)
Simmer rolls for about an hour.

I did make a few changes from the recipe above though. I used Dijon Mustard with Chardonnay, only 1 sliced onion and I used already mixed Beef Broth.

Also, if you want to add the tasty garlic mushrooms on top, all you have to do is melt some butter in a sauce pan, add some minced garlic and toss your cut up mushrooms in. Let them simmer for a bit and then add some pepper on top! Once they are done to your taste, place them on top of your Rouladan, serve and enjoy!

Easily one of my favorite foods!

All in all it was a great cooking night for me! If you try the recipe, please comment and let me know how it goes!

Until next time, Ciao!

Life is like a box of chocolate!

Okay, so maybe that quote doesn't have any philosophical relevance to my post today, I just like the saying...and I say it with Forrest Gumps voice in my head when I do!
Yesterday, a dear friend to me, brought me a pretty little box (that she made) and inside said pretty little box was 6 pretty little flower shaped dark chocolates! The fun part is that she also made the chocolate....from scratch! I don't have the recipe yet, but when I next talk to her I plan on asking if I can share it on my blog with all you lovelies!
In the mean time, I have have pretty little picture of both the box and the chocolates that she made!

You only see 3 chocolates...because I ate the other 3! Melt in your mouth goodness! <3
On another note, tonight I will be attempting to make a German dish called Rouladan for the first time! There will be a post up either later this evening or tomorrow to show how the whole process went and whether or not it was tasty...or if the local take out place needed to deliver!

Until then, ciao!
