Seymour Diner!

Hello! Welcome to the Seymour Diner! At least thats how it feels sometimes, lol. The difference between the menu at a diner and my kitchen though is quite simple. A diner you choose what you get and in my kitchen, you have to week prior to make requests for the following weeks menu, once I have written on the board...you out of luck until next week!
I know, I know, I'm such a mean mommy/wife but this process really helps with doing the grocery shopping on a budget and it also makes it so that we aren't doing repeats all the time.

Anyways, boxes full of unpacked crafting stuff is calling my name and a Texas sheet cake needs baking, so I am off for now!

Until we meet again!
Ciao!

Monkey Hats, Moving and an Anniversary!

Its amazing how much I missed having the Internet during our move. I mean, I had my cell phone, but it's just not the same as being able to open up my lap top and get to work writing or editing...or creeping Facebook!

So we are officially moved into the new place and while I still have lots to do, it already feels like home! With all the hustle and bussal...did I spell that right? err.. anyways, I was un-able to post a project that I had been working on since mid January! I wasn't able to post it because it as a gift for my parents 27th Wedding Anniversary. I did not take pic of the step by step of making it but I did take a final shot.

Basically I took a roller skate box and cut out all angles for the book/folder and then made individual pockets where letters from people who love and respect my parents would go. It went over really well, they love it and I think were actually a little surprised to see just how many people lives they have touched.
My parents rock . ^^

Next up, we have Sock Monkey Hats! My mother happens to be very talented at crocheting and has made many fabulous things for me, my hubby and my kids. Most recent are these great little Sock Monkey Hats! I kind of want one.....:D

My Little P and Big T look so cute! P is not a fan of having hats or anything for that matter, on her head but she loves her Sock Monkey Hat! I really think my Mom should open an Etsy site, what do you think?!

Now I will leave you with some random moving pics!

Holy boxes Batman!

P was so very tired after such a big event.
T, vegging out our first night in the new house!
Because sitting in the box to unpack makes it easier.. :)
Until next time...Ciao!

Rainbow Pancakes!

I also wanted to get this up before I completely forgot! The last breakfast at our old house needed to be something fun, so I decided to make some awsome rainbow pancakes!
Enjoy the colorful goodness! :)

Moving = Insanity!

We are, for the most part, moved into our new place! The new place is great, but I have alot of work to do to get this place into shape!
Anyways, just wanted to update and let it be known that I haven't disappeared and I will be back to posting soon! I have many projects on the go and I have even been commissioned to do a Wedding!!! :)
Until next time!

Baby Showers Gifts Galore!

A friend/co-worker of my husbands, wife is pregnant with their first child. Its a baby girl! We met up with them for breakfast this morning and I was able to give her the baby gift I made up! I tried my hand at making an Ice Cream themed gift. Inside there is one fleece blanket, one receiving blanket, 2 onesies, 4 wash clothes, 1 bottle of baby lotion and adorned with 2 "ice cream" spoons! I was actually super happy with how it turned out! Check it out below!

So now that I am posting in this blog on a fairly frequent basis, I have decided to put up some of my other artwork and custom stuff to show as well. One day I would love to be able to get my custom work turned into an actual business. Check out the follow pieces I have done for my kids bedrooms. :)
ALSO! I got commissioned to do a Wedding in July!! I'll be doing a 2 tier cake and a cupcake tree! :)

Anyways, until next time!

The one on the left I did for my daughter, and the one of the right for my son!

These were both done for my daughter, Peyton. The belly cast took me about a week and half to finish.

This is also for my daughter with my husband and I. I plan on doing this for my son aswell!

Personalized Collage Frames!

This will be a sweet and simple post as I must actually start packing.....moving in 3 days and all....eek!
With the move, Tristan will finally have his own bedroom for me to decorate! When I was pregnant with my daughter Peyton, I had lots of time to do paintings and all these fun canvases to put up in her room. When I was pregnant with Tristan, I was chasing Peyton around and therefore there is a distinct lack of awesome artwork for his room. I decided to play a little catch up yesterday while they were both napping!

The project was simple and easy! All you need to a hot glue gun, some plain wooden frames ( I got mine at Ikea years ago) and paint, etc. I made a little picture collage showing what I did.
Enjoy!

Be Mine, Valentine!

Happy Valentines Day to everyone!
I hope that everyone everywhere was feeling at least a little love!

Today I made Red Velvet Cupcakes, although I did cheat today..I used boxed mix! (gasp!) But they were tasty and with the packing and such, were just the easier choice.

Also, we gave our munchkins their Valentines Day gifts, some super cute little stuffie Voodoo Dolls...yep Voodoo Dolls! Although these little guys are harmless and just for fun, so for those out there that would....don't get your panties in a twist! ^^ I also made the kids Valentines cards.

Hubby and I didn't do anything this year for each other, simply because we are to busy and life is expensive, lol. That being said, this doesn't make me sad, my husband is my best friend, and when we can, we do things for each other without it needing to be a special " I love you" day. :) I wish this kind of love for everyone. <3

Anyways, enjoy the pics!

Peytons breakfast!

His first Valentine!

Tommy K Play!

When I was a kid, there was this great indoor playground called Bonkers. It was full of tunnels, foam pits and lots of things to climb on. I seem to recall many a birthday parties being held there! Sadly, it is not longer around for me to take my munchkins to, so I set out on the hunt to find somewhere I could take them.
I have looked into quite a few places and there seems to be 2 or 3 really promising ones, but today we decided to try out TommykPlay. It was excellent, I will defiantly be taking my little ones back. There is alot to do for toddler aged to about 7 or 8 years old. Lots of climbing and tunnels, slides, a laser room and a mini "go cart" track for the smaller kids. There is also an enclosed area for the younger ones and toys to peek there interest as well.
I've added a link for those who want to check it out, I would defiantly recommend it for safety, comfort, affordability and fun!

Enjoy the pics of my little P, experiencing her first indoor playground! :)

Nothing better then seeing the glimmer of fun in a child's eyes! :)

Boxes are a kids best friend!

Hello again!

So, as I mentioned in my last post, it's rather busy in the Seymour household. We are moving at the end of the month and with moving...comes moving boxes!
I remember when I was kid, for my birthday my parents got me a HUGE already made cardboard playhouse,I loved it and I now know that my daughter has a love for these fabulous vessels of imagination just the same as I did.

Last night, my wonderful friend Steph , my daughter P and myself all built and colored on these excellent cardboard box forts and tunnels.

P was thrilled!
Which tunnel to explore!?
Steph, peeking around the corner, hoping to spook P!
Even I decided to worms my way through and be a creepy tunnel Mommy!
All in all, a good time was had! I do believe we may have to do a reprise to the excellent tunnel building after I unpack the new house!!!

Although I have been slacking on getting updates on here, I haven't altogether been slacking on the fun and creative parts of our day to day! The next couple of pics are of fabulous fun hot dogs, Valentine Cookies and a quick peek at one of the wands I finished! :)
Enjoy!
