Maple Leaf Cookies, Tasty Lunch and Chalk Doodles!

Almost 2 days in a row! I'm definitely back to posting regularly...lol, I hope!

Anyways, the days are slowly starting to cool down, after what feels like an extremely long summer. It was just extremely hot this summer and with no ocean and tasty drink in my hand..it was just long.
That being said, with the lovely coolness, comes way more baking in my house. The lovely smells of fresh cookies, cinnamon buns and cakes, oh my!

So yesterday, Little P and I made Fall Leaves..in cookie form! Check it out!

Helping Mommy put the butter in the mixing bowl

Being sneaky with the cookie dough!

T-Rex really wanted to help eat the cookie dough

Colors mixed and the dough was ready to chill

After an hour of chilling, we were ready to cut out our leaves.

Bake for 5 mins and we were done!

After we were done with our cookies, it was time to have some tasty lunch!
I made up some quick and tasty Grilled Cheese Tuna Melts, T-Rex thought they were great and Little P was in a 'Boo to Food' mood.

Really good with ketchup or Tomato Soup!

mmmm, whats this Mom?!

My Grilled Cheese Tuna Melts are simple and tasty!

What you need:
2 Slices of Bread (per sandwich)
Butter
Kraft Cheese Slices (1 per sandwich)

1 Can of Pink Tuna (drain)
Salt and Pepper
Mayo
Relish

Mix your tuna with the mayo, salt & pepper and relish, then set to the side.
Butter one side of both pieces of bread, warm up your pan or griddle, once heated, place a slice of bread butter side down, then add a slice of cheese, some of the tuna mix and then top it with the other slice of bread, butter side up. Don't forget to flip and make sure both sides are a nice golden brown!
Devour!

Also, just for fun, P and I were out coloring the pavement All Hallows Eve style!
Why must it still be months away!? *le sigh*

Anyways, I hope you enjoy, I am off to work on some crafty goodness and perhaps bake some cupcakes...mmmmmm cupcakes.... :D

Hello my fabulous little blog!

So slowly I am seeming to be able to get back to my crafty goodness. All these projects have been piling up and I am finally getting to them, one at a time!

So last night while I was waiting for little P to finally go to sleep, I decided to to do another quick little pinterest project that wouldn't take much time, fun storage boxes! By up cycling diaper boxes, I was able to make some handy little bins for all of our hats and mitts, etc.

http://diyhshp.blogspot.ca/2012/06/duct-tape-fun.html  This is the site that my pinterest pic sent me to! To be honest, I didn't check out the link until after I did the project, but she definitely had a great idea!! :)

Anyways, these are the 2 boxes I made! One for mine and little Ps stuff and one for little T and the hubbys. I think we need to get the boys more hats!!! lol.

Diaper boxes and fun duck tape!

Ok, so maybe P and I have a littttttle more in the way of cute hats!

I like them and plan to do a few more, great idea for fun and stylin organization!

Also, as you who read this little blog know ( or at least I think you do!) I have a HUGE obsession with Halloween and I am already making plans. I'm actually going to be hosting my first annual Hallows Eve Bash at our house this year and I can't wait!

Check out a few sweet little goodies I picked up today!

Amazeballs cookie cutters!!! Ok, at least to me, with my crazy Halloween addiction and my sweet glass pumpkin that will no doubt hold some tasty goodness!

So stick around, the next couple of months are going to be busy busy with crafts, events AND I am getting a half sleeve done in November, so I will def be keeping up with some posts on that!

Until then...ciao!

Time Out/Calm Down Jar

So this will be a sweet but very brief post!
My little P has started having some tantrums and time outs don't work the best because she just gets bored and seems to forget she was in trouble in the first place. So we made a glitter jar, she has to sit there until all the glitter settles, and if after its settles she is calm and being good, she is done her time out. If she is still spazzing, we shake it up again!

She helped make it, so she feels that is special and something to pay attention to!

Pink Fairy Cinnamon Buns w/ Cream Cheese Frosting

Ok, I know I really suck at posting during the summer! I just get so carried away doing so many things that to be honest, I completely forgot about my blog.
That being said, I'm back!

Today my little P and I set out to make cinnamon buns! As it so happens, I seem to have lost my fav cinnamon bun recipe, so I went searching for another and came up with this little treasure!

The only difference between the recipe on Canadian Living and when we did ours was that we didn't use pecans, we used raisins instead. We also topped ours with a made from scratch cream cheese frosting! I didn't actually measure anything for the frosting, I just used 1 package of Philly Cream Cheese and tossed it in with some butter, a little vanilla and icing sugar until it tasted divine.

Anyways, enjoy the pics and if you get a chance to do some baking, enjoy the buns! :)

Checking out whats going on in the mixer!

A little pink for fun!

Ok, lets getting started

We rolled it all out

Nice and smooth (and pink!)

We added our sugar, cinnamon, butter and raisins

Little P ate some of the raisins to!

All set to bake!

Fantastic Pink Fairy Cinnamon Buns!

100 Years of Stampede!

Yesterday we took our kidlets to the Calgary Stampede with some friends of ours. It was the first time for both kids, as well as being the 100th year anniversary for the Stampede.
It was actually the perfect day to go. Calgary has been having crazy heat lately and there were even reports of people passing out! Yesterday on the other hand was over cast with chance of rain, and we sure did get rain! Luckily it waited until the end of the night while we were waiting for the fireworks.

Anyways, as usual I took a ton of pictures and now I will share them with you!

My husband and our buddy, making P an animal balloon!

Big smiles at the Stampede

My little P, winning some prizes!

Nom nom noms and teddy bear cuddles for T.

Playing and making friends on the kids stage!

I really do have many many more photos of Stampede, but Blogger is not working right today with pics, but you get the main idea.
Aside from over crowded c-trains and a few to many girls who seemed to have forgot to wear clothes to the Stampede....it was a great day! :)

Canada Day Weekend 2012

Hello my little blog!

So this past weekend was the Canada Day long weekend and while we would have loved to have gone camping, my hubby was on call for work. Instead, we stayed home, hung out with friends, reconnecting with friends from a long time past on my part and enjoyed the company of my fabulous parents and brother.

Naturally, I have a ton of pics, but I will just post the extra cute/fun ones.
Okay, where to start, on the Saturday, Lil P and I headed off to Wal-Mart to pick up some hamburger buns for a BBQ that night and then we were going to head back to pack up and go to the community lake. We ended up deciding to expand our BBQ and invite from friends over, fill up the kids pools and enjoy the sun from our own yard. My husbands buddy and his gf came over with there beautiful pups, my friend Steph came over and then later the evening a good friend from my past came over with his lovely fiance!

We had hamburgers, there was a pool dunking and an almost ruined cell phone (yay for rice, saves the day!) and then slowly into the evening, our numbers dwindled. Steph had to head out and not long after Ryan, Narissa and there pups headed out as well. That left Derek and I, the kids and Nick and Julie. We were all enjoying ourselves enough to not call it a night, instead we brought out the firewood and enjoyed a nice fire for a while.

I haz a cooookie

Daddy is mowing the lawn so we can set up the pool!

Yep, she stole my Ice Capp!

T-Rex says hi to Ember :)

Chalk hands!

Nothing beats a warm summer day with good food and good friends :)

The next day was actually in Canada Day! So the hubby and I took our little ones out to the Okotoks festivities, got balloons, pet some animals and then drove out to Chain Lakes for a picnic with Gramma and Papa. After our little picnic, we enjoyed the weather and lake until rain clouds started rolling in. We decided to head back to Okotoks and have a BBQ at my parents and do some hot tubbing until it was time to head over to the Okotoks Fireworks, where we met up with Nick and Julie.
All ready to go!

Pushing her little brother :)

Visiting the animals

Tristan will enjoy it all a lot more next year

Just chilling

I want that one Mommy!

Big smiles! He was happy to be out of his carseat, lol.

Anyways, it was a great weekend! :)

Hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend as much as we did!
